People On The Grid with Fintan Kerr

People On The Grid Interview with Fintan Kerr

Fintan Kerr is 28-years-old and originally from Macclesfield, England. He moved to Barcelona almost six years ago, to experience a new and better way of life. Once in Barcelona, Fintan’s adventurer side took control and Fintan would wander down to the local wine shop where I was living in the Born, Bodega Maestrazgo, and try a different wine, read a book and have a light dinner. Soon, his evening would be the best part of his day.

Jose, the owner of Bodega Maestrazgo, quickly took an interest in explaining the wines to Fintan and introduced him to the subtle differences in soil, climate, and vinification that influence the style and taste of the wines I was drinking.  Fintan was intrigued. He invited some friends down to the Bodega a few weeks later, and Jose gave us a Spanish wine tasting. A few months later, Fintan flew to London to take the WSET level 3 course.

Fintan now works as Wine Cuentista,  “Wine story-teller” in Spanish. He organizes high-quality tastings and events in a little tasting room next to Bodega Maestrazgo. Fintan also writes a blog, that he works on regularly, about all things in the wine industry. He starting a Youtube channel with tasting videos soon (maybe in March 2017).

Fintan is currently in his second semester of the WSET Diploma and intends to go on and become a Master of Wine (the first and only Wine Master residing in Barcelona and only the second in Spain). He adores exploring and sharing the world of wine and if you live in Barcelona, you can either join us for tastings on an almost weekly basis through Maestrazgo Wine Club or book a private tasting if you have a group of 5 or more persons. I’m always happy to hear from fellow wine lovers so feel free to get in touch anytime.

Fintan has found his passion for exploring and sharing the world of wine with others.
