7 Interesting Start-Ups We Found at 4YFN

Start-Ups at 4YFN

In the last week of February, People On The Grid were very busy, at the Mobile World Congress and 4YFN convention. 4YFN is a platform for which start-up companies and projects can come and meet sponsors, other start-ups, and network and gain awareness. At the 4YFN convention, we learned about so many new and innovative start-up projects. In this week’s blog post we would like to give special mention to some of the one’s we found interesting at the Mobile World Congress.

With International Women’s Day media still circulating all over the web, and the whole concept of women in the workforce as a hot topic for discussion, we were not surprised to see a few start-ups that are looking into the gender gap in the business world. Take a look at Adalab. Adalab is a social startup that is focused on closing the digital gender gap. They hope to close the gender gap through a training and internship program for young and talented women. This startup wants to support unemployed women in becoming digital leaders and role models for other young women in the tech industry. Their programming offers a 3-month immersive training period and a 6-month long internship period. After the 9-months, students are given the opportunity to be a part of a company committed to diversity. Like International Women’s Day, Adalab wants to create a global community and network of people to support women in the tech industry. Like the 2017 IWD hashtag #BEBOLDFORCHANGE

Not only discovering this talent but also helping to build localized communities around the experience of cooking, sharing, and enjoying amazing food. Through producing and distributing high-quality original content across the spectrum of digital video services like live streaming, long-form videos, and all the other video like footage available on social media, Allthefoodies hopes to engage local community members through their preferred formats, times and devices. With 360° videos and virtual reality taking over the digital world, it would be silly not to mention one startup that is helping everyday people produce good quality 360° videos to share with the world.  Collect is the easiest way to edit + share 360° photos & videos on the go or from VR. To date 360 is the most interactive, immersive media, and it will only go up from here. It is growing so fast. But up until now, 360 videos were time-consuming and task extensive. Creators would have to bring their files to a computer and use very complicated software that doesn’t support 360 natively because the concept is so new. Collect increases the ease of producing and improving photos and videos to upload onto social media platforms in an easy way. Collect is building powerful yet simple tools in hopes of becoming the leading 360 user-generated content platform so that in the future 360 camera-phones are ubiquitous and anyone can make 360 videos without trouble.
